Create a Free E Newsletter Part 4 Formatting Newsletter Articles

In the previous article, we reviewed how to format your newsletter header. In this article, we will discuss how to format brief articles in your newsletter. The purpose of these brief articles is to motivate readers to click on LINKS to more detailed information on one or more of your website pages.

FIRST ARTICLE

Things should start moving more quickly now. Type in some text for the title and more text for the article. Then click on APPLY:

You can see that the article cell is too narrow. Just click on the correct box for the entire article and title. Then pull on the white dots to make the cell wider.

You can also select just the picture box on the right and make that wider.

You can also upload a couple more images to the newsletter images folder replace the default images.

ADDING LINKS

Next, we must work on adding links. One of the primary goals of a newsletter is to convince readers to click on the links and visit more detailed articles on your website. To create a link, simply use your cursor to select the text you want to turn into a link. Then click on the unbroken chain link (sideways figure 8) in the text editor:

Type in the webpage you want readers to go to, then click OK. After you send some test emails, you should check to make sure that all of your newsletter links actually works.

The final thing we should work on is adding a section with the proper links for Forward to Friends, Subscribe and Unsubscribe at the bottom of the page. The Unsubscribe link is required by law. The Forward to Friends and Subscribe links are an important way for you to use Free Viral Marketing to expand your email list.

These topics will be covered in the next article.
